MENTAL HEALTH

Our doctors are trained in the management of common mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, stress, grief, drug and alcohol problems, schizophrenia, and personality disorders.  Please make your initial consultation a longer appointment for assessment.  Your doctor may then organise at a future appointment, a Mental Health Care Plan for access to psychological services.

 

This is part of the Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative of the Australian Government, which aims to improve outcomes for people with  mental health disorders through evidence based treatment.  Once referred under a Mental Health Care Plan, or Eating Disorder Care Plan, Medicare rebates are available for services provided by Clinical Psychologists, eligible Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Dieticians.
